Kids Activities

Since Hilton Head is considered an ideal vacation spot for families, there are plenty of activities for kids of any age. Nightly sing-along entertainment by Gregg Russell under the live oak tree in Harbour Town in Sea Pines has been a favorite for over 25 years. The trolley ride from the Sea Pines entrance is an event in itself! Shannon Tanner also puts on a lively interactive show each evening at Shelter Cove Marina that will have the young people dancing and singing enthusiastically. Every Tuesday night at Shelter Cove, your family can enjoy an exciting festival with food, crafts, entertainment and fireworks. Puppet shows are performed at regular intervals at Shelter Cove and Coligny Plaza too. The Salty Dog in South Beach in Sea Pines also entertains the children with music, face painting and a clown each evening. Lawton Stables in Sea Pines has a full free petting zoo, complete with donkeys, pigs and a llama! Come pet and feed Harley, the gentle Clydsdale that has become a lovable mascot. There are pony rides for the younger set and horse trail tours through the Forest Preserve for those more adventurous. There are many indoor activities too, such as The Art Café in Coligny Plaza, the Sandbox Interactive Children’s Museum on Pope Avenue and Island Playground in Bluffton, numerous movie theaters and the outstanding Main Street Youth Theater performances. After a day at the beach or if you need a break from the beach, your children will never be bored!
