Nature/Eco-Tourism

The coastal birds, turtles, alligators (yes we have them, but they will leave you alone) and many other native animals will constantly fascinate you. The Forest Preserve in Sea Pines and the Museum of Coastal Carolina at Honey Horn are just a couple places where you can learn about the wildlife of the Low Country and arrange for tours or make reservations for their educational programs. Kayaking tours are popular and plentiful and provide a chance to exercise while soaking in the wildlife and beauty of the region. You will also want to allow time for a dolphin-watching cruise/tour to enjoy these wonderful and entertaining creatures. Horseback-riding guided trails through the Forest Preserve are available at Lawton Stables in Sea Pines.
